Nader Pourmand is a Professor of Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California Santa Cruz in the Baskin School of Engineering. He is best known for his work with the UCSC Genome Sequencing Center and research on advanced biosensors. His research areas are: bioelectronics, biosensors, chemosensors, nanotechnology, single cell characterization, sequencing, genotyping, pathogen detection, and DNA fingerprinting.
